Fukue Port(9:45)
Fukue Port Terminal is also the gateway to Goto City. There are sea routes connecting to Nagasaki Port, Hakata Port, Naru Island, Hisaka Island, and Shinkamigoto, as well as to Kabashima, Akashima, and Oushima. It takes around 1 hour 25 minutes by jetfoil, or around 3 hours 10 minutes by ferry, to get there from Nagasaki Port. The ferry from Hakata Port takes around 8 hours 30 minutes. For more details, please inquire with the respective transport companies.
Within the terminal, you will find transport company offices, souvenir shops, restaurants, a tourist information center, convenience stores, etc., and you can spot Mt. Onidake from the second-floor observatory. When you arrive, the first thing you should do is pick up helpful pamphlets from the tourist information center.
There are not many big souvenir shops on the island, so people have said how good it was to be able to buy souvenirs in the terminal before boarding. The shop has many local specialty products on sale, such as the traditional souvenir of the Goto Islands, Goto Udon, as well as Kankoro mochi, camelia products, seafood, and more. You may even find souvenirs unique to the islands, so don't forget to check it out! There are even high-value coral accessories.
There are also coin lockers within the terminal.

Egami Church
Registered as UNESCO World Heritage as part of “Egami Village on Naru Island”. Important cultural property of Japan.
The history of Egami Church starts back in 1881, when four families from Nishisonogi in Nagasaki Prefecture moved to Egami and were baptised catholic.
The current church was built in 1918, thanks to the dedication of local kibinago fishermen and their families who gathered their savings to fund the church.
They asked the “father of Japanese churches’ architecture”, Yosuke Tetsukawa, to design and build the edifice.
It’s a simple but beautiful church, with its characteristic wooden architecture, its soft cream colour walls and charming blue sashes.
The ribbed vault ceiling is designed to enhance the acoustics of the place.
The hand-drawn wood grain on the pillars and hand-made flower-shaped stained glass are the fruits of the dedication of the local believers.
Egami is registered as UNESCO World Heritage as part of the “Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region” since 2018.
*You must make a reservation in advance to tour the church.

Naru Church
A beautiful white church that stands at the heart of the island
Churches were built one-after-another in different parts of Goto once the prohibition of Christianity was lifted. Naru Church was constructed on its present site in 1926, but was dismantled by its attendees because it could not withstand the typhoons. The current church was consecrated in 1961.
